The agency encourages the development of self-esteem and the attainment of self-sufficiency through its commitment of providing a holistic, safe and supportive environment, and through its programs of housing, advocacy and empowerment.

The Akron Woman's City Club was established in 1923 as a place where women could meet to discuss subjects of interest, hold seminars for education, promote charitable events, and serve as a social center and meeting place for women of Akron. Today it remains one of the oldest and largest clubs for women in America.

The Battered Women's Shelter of Summit and Medina Counties provides emergency services and supportive services to victims seeking to end family violence. Unlike other agencies that focus on victims of all types of crime, BWS is the only agency in Summit/Medina County that focuses on family violence, intervention and prevention.

Formed by survivors, the purpose of the Breast Cancer Fund of Ohio is to distribute funds from the sale of Ohio's Breast Cancer Awareness License Plate to organizations around Ohio for emergency financial assistance to breast cancer patients and to improve access to quality health care and clinical trials.

Freedom House for Women exist to create opportunities for women to transition into the mainstream of our community by establishing and maintaining housing, family unity, employment, educational opportunities and sober living to enhance their quality of life.

We help elect record numbers of feminist women to Congress and to state legislatures from Maine to California. We champion important new laws like those requiring employers to provide family and medical leave and ensuring stronger enforcement of child support awards. Our primary goal is to be known as "the clinic that cares". The Capital Care Women’s Center group was founded in 1975 in Columbus, Ohio. Together, Capital Care Women’s Center, Ohio Women’s Centers, Toledo Women’s Center, and Athena Women’s Center form a collection of offices that are female owned and operated with a caring staff of physicians, registered nurses, trained medical assistants, and patient advocates.
